Body shaming. Very poorly written. Please go read something else.
Bro you are messing the point of this ??
Honestly I think the story is okay after about the first 10 chapters. The tone of “Fat=Ugly” mostly disappear after that. The plot isn’t bad and art is nice, I’ve read all that’s available now just to give a honest opinion and I’ll say that it’s worth reading if you can push past those 10 chapters. There is quite a bit of grammar issues later on, I think once the translation crew got switched like 4 times.
OUUUU CANT WAIT TILL CHAPTER 51 UVO?
I don’t see it as body shaming, I think you guys are missing the point. This is the story of a girl with a damaged soul/heart, that hid behind food to have at least a temporary satisfaction. This is the story of lots of people. However, when she got a different soul that was not so hurt, the body reflected that image. Not because it’s beautiful, but because it is the ideal of healthy. She said that before her skin was breaking and that is normal for a bad diet, and after she started eating healthier food her skin improved, which is just as things are. And you gotta consider the ideals of the portrayed world. In this fantasy world, people apparently badmouth overweight people and that does not mean the author agrees with this view, but it is well relatable as we live in a world that does the same. Moreover, it helps with what he/she (author) is trying to transmit with the story, which is that “society broke a child” and “don’t care about other people think of you as for now, focus on what you want to become and accomplish”. We gotta remember that Silvia was a child. She didn’t have the emotional strength to deal with all she had been through, and the soul who reincarnated on her body was of an ADULT that was sick, knew that she was going to die, and therefore had a very mature emotional side to her. She decided to live a healthy happy life because she couldn’t in her previous life, there is no way one can compare the two of them. To me, either your “body shaming” statements are shallow or your interpretation is lacking.
I totally agree. It is not body shaming, it’s representation. And people can choose to take it whatever way they want. But although this story is VERY entertaining, it can also be motivating!
I really enjoy this story. It’s pretty annoying in the beginning with the fat shaming bit, I don’t mind that they made the main character more fit and healthy, rather it’s the way they went about it.
I would have much rather seen Sylvia work and her weight loss happen gradually over time as her character grew and got better, rather than every magically melt off her with not trying at all on her part.
But either way, once you get past that the story is very good, the art is interesting, though some of the digitally inserted art is so jaring that it’s distracting, but still highly recommend this story!
